LOOKING FOR GREAT EXAMPLES OF TEAM WEBSITES? CHECK OUT YEAR 3 TEAMS Want to link to something that is on your website? Highlight the words you want to link and click on the link icon on the menu bar at the top and then choose Standard Page. This will create a drop down menu of all the pages on your own website. Choose the page and hit enter. WHAT SHOULD WE ADD TO OUR WEBSITE? PRESENTATIONS, FLYERS, IMAGES? Yes, add it all just be careful so that everything is organized as part of your story. What is the main event(s) you want to highlight? What are additional materials, activities, resources? Whatever works for you. Again - look at past examples to get ideas. CHECK OUT YEAR 3 TEAMS

DUE MAY 5th, 2019 - Final Website and Video is due via Submittable – the same platform you used to submit your Girls Build application. You can find everything you need to know to complete the Girls Build project on our Curriculum Page. ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES (see all here) NEW THIS WEEK: Change the Game Deadline: June 7th Audience: Ages 13-18 (must be US citizen or permanent resident, and obtain parent/guardian permission) Description:Change The Game is Google Play’s initiative to build a diverse future in mobile gaming. To empower the next generation of game makers, we invite teens to tap into their imagination and share their own game idea to the Change The Game Design Challenge. The grand prize winner will receive a $15,000 college scholarship and $15,000 for their non-profit's or school's technology program. All five finalists will have their game ideas produced and launched on the Google Play Store, a VIP trip to LA to showcase their game design, and a scholarship to Girls Make Games summer camp. Shout out to: Henderson Middle School for mapping out a clear plan to launch their schoolwide Walking Club n the next few weeks. Clinton Middle School's Girls Revolution team for a stellar homeless awareness project that they presented to the councilmembers of City Hall and then donated boxes of baby hygiene products. Girls Build LA Team of Marshall Fundamental who spent the weekend bringing Mental Health Awareness to their school and out into the community through at least 3 events by our count! Engagement Opportunities (see all here) NEW THIS WEEK: Imagen Awards Student Short Film Competition Deadline: April 30th Audience: Latinx students in high school and college Description: The Imagen Foundation invites Latino college and high school students from all across the United States and Puerto Rico to submit their student films to the Imagen Awards Student Film Competition. This special competition is geared towards showcasing the best short films created by the young talent within our Latino community. Winners of the competition will have the opportunity to have their film screened at the 34th Annual Imagen Awards, in front of many of Hollywood’s movers and shakers!Students will be able to enter in either the College or High School Competition.
