The GirlsBuild Project

GirlsBuild is an initiative that partners with public middle schools and high schools as well as after school nonprofit organizations. GirlsBuild teams help students create a community with a common goal to address an issue they’re passionate about and build towards a project to find resolutions, new learnings, and find their own form of leadership.

How the GirlsBuild Project Works

  • 60 teams will each receive a $1,000 grant to design and implement a solution addressing an important challenge you have identified in your school or community.
  • Site Coordinators will receive a $1,200 stipend. Teams can have more than one coordinator and split the $1,200 grant.
    • Teams will need access to a computer and the Internet at times during the year. As a key component of the project, teams will build a website, create social media accounts, and videos to build a digital footprint of your project.
    • We will supply training, tutorials, and resources to make this happen, no prior experience is necessary!

What is Needed to Apply?

The GirlsBuild Project is is now open for the 2023-2024 academic year!
