How it Works
Girls Build, in partnership with When We All Vote is seeking to leverage the power of our numbers to build a coalition of over 10,000 girls to register and preregister themselves and 10,000 additional members of their families, schools, and communities across Southern California and nationwide.
Starting today, August 26th, we’re asking educators to spread the word to students to build their Girls Build teams and together, create a voter mobilization plan for registering voters and getting out the vote leading up to the November 3rd elections.
The voter mobilization challenge will culminate with our signature Girls Build Summit on October 15th, which will convene 10,000 girls for an epic day of female empowerment and once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunities with a lineup of exciting speakers.
This year, we will carry out our voter mobilization efforts virtually, following public health recommendations, taking full advantage of the power of virtual advocacy to register more voters and engage more communities than ever before.
Girls Build and When We All Vote have put together toolkits and webinars on voter mobilization and civic engagement that will take teams through every step of the process on leading their own voter registration and get-out-the-vote efforts - from how to create a plan of action, how to effectively engage communities on the importance of this election, and how to spread the word on important deadlines for voter registration and mail-in votes.
This moment calls us to be more than bystanders, and the Girls Build community has always led the way for our communities to be seen and heard. Together, we can organize our communities to fight for justice and equity for each and every one of us who call the United States our home.
