Kara ZohnKara Zohn is an independent consultant with over a decade of experience managing complex projects and relationships for nonprofits and corporations. She served as Interim Executive Director and previously as Program Director for the Los Angeles Fund for Public Education - now LA Promise Fund. Kara worked for Teach For America - Los Angeles where she led development efforts for the individual giving portfolio and at the DC Public Education Fund where she managed a portfolio of philanthropic investments in teacher professional development, blended learning, and district strategy. Prior to her roles in the nonprofit sector, Kara worked in corporate finance for the Walt Disney Company.
She earned an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BS in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish from the California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo. Karla's strengths: I am excited to share my experience with the teams to support them through their projects! As a former staff member and judge, I know quite a bit about GBLA and can help guide teams as they think through the problem they want to solve. Specifically, I am excited to share my skills in project management, strategic planning, budgeting, fundraising, research and analysis, and communications. I would love to help teams in any way that I can from start to finish - including support of final presentations to ensure all of their hard work is effectively shared and their successes celebrated. |
