About the Orientation Challenge:
Teams should plan to arrive no later than 9am. Lunch will be provided. Project coordinators and students should plan to wear what they would wear to school.

Please bring 2 laptops or MORE to the event (unless we told you we are providing 2 for you) and there will be free Wi-fi available. Students are encouraged to bring cell phones and additional laptops and chargers as the day will include video, social media and web design.

Field Trip Approval & Transportation: If you are an LAUSD school, you need only to receive principal approval for the field trip to USC on 10/17. You do not need to secure approval from LAUSD Risk Management as USC is on LAUSD’s list of approved field trip locations. Please secure parental and principal approval for this trip. We are working with LAUSD transportation and will get back to you soon to make bus arrangements.

If you are not an LAUSD school, please book your transportation for this event. So that we can pay the bus vendor directly, please include the following as billing information: Priscilla Lopez, LA Promise Fund, 202 W. 1st Street #160, Los Angeles, CA 90012. You may work with whichever bus vendor you choose, including any of those listed on LAUSD’s list of approved charter buses companies. Depending on where you are coming from your cost for transportation should not exceed $300. Please let me know if you are quoted a rate that exceeds $300. Please arrive no later than 9:30am.
