- Presentation Content - Presentations should address the major components of the website:
- Problem Identification- What was the problem that you wanted to solve? How did you identify it?
- Solution - What was your team’s answer? How did you get there?
- Implementation - How did the team conduct their work throughout the year?
- Results & Impact - How impactful was your project? What evidence have you collected to share?
- Quantitative examples
- Number of students that have attended programs
- Number of events
- Trips taken as a team
- Partner organizations, mentors or supporters engaged
- Surveys measuring student responses
- Qualitative examples
- Quotes from participants
- Stories and reactions
- Observational data
- Social media activity
- Bring pictures and visuals! That will go a long way to translating what you have accomplished!
- Quantitative examples
- Lessons learned - What happened during the course of your project that was surprising? What would you have done differently if you could do things again?
Things to keep in mind:
- Team Member Participation - Try to make sure that your students all have a chance to speak, and contribute. With presentations like this, it is hard for everyone to get a word in, but it should be clear that everyone contributed to the project. And we know you’re awesome already - try to keep the focus on your students!
- Clear understanding of challenge – What exactly were you trying to address? Was it specific to your school, or do many others deal with this as a problem?
- Specific, measurable and actionable outcomes – Capturing the impact of your team is really important. That can look a lot of different ways, but make sure you have what you need to tell your story.
- Sustainability and feasibility - Bonus points if there is a plan to continue to have positive impact on your campus after this year. What do you have on the horizon?
- Be creative - You never know what will stand out. Think about how to use media, pictures, storytelling or other supports to make your presentation resonate.
- Look like a Team - this is a casual day, girls do not need to dress up - but a sign of team spirit and unity helps any presentation.
- Create your own nametags! - We will provide nametags as well, but this is a creative way to show off your team.
- Bring Visuals - Dress up your table! Bring posters, images, laptops to show off any materials from the website, fliers from past events. Think about what you can do to make the project come to life.
